HEALTH IS MORE THAN JUST HAVING AN AMAZING BODY. It’s actually a reflection of an ecosystem of various balanced parts. Health (with a capital “H”) is an essential balancing act of maintaining a fit body, creative expression, mental health, spiritual connectedness, sexual health, living in a positive environment and a career in which we’re flourishing. This is the foundation of my holistic fitness coaching philosophy.

With 10+ years experience working as a full-time fitness coach in Los Angeles, I’ve coached people from every walk of life, helping them to unleash their inner athlete and need to change their lives.
It’s something I know about. As a kid, I owned a candy store and ate a lot of the profits. (I can joke about it now, but then I was fat and intensely uncomfortable in my skin, which only led to further isolation in my teenage years). After graduating cum laude from Gonzaga University, I moved to LA and launched HERO Magazine. Here my physical fears and insecurities grew deeper, surrounded by so many “beautiful people,”
THEN, A SPARK.
Finally, something shifted deep inside. I said, “Enough!” and set out on a new course that changed my body, and my life. After completing all 575-miles of the California AIDSRide (San Francisco to Los Angeles), my physicality was no longer a question, and I opened the doors to my flagship training studio in 2004. Three other branded locations throughout LA followed in the years since— including Glendale and Downtown.

Whether learning to sing an aria from Le Nozze Di Figaro, or reading the minds of the defensive linemen in our football games, my coaches always inspired me to new levels of personal performance. Like warm taffy in their hands, they stretched the limits of what I thought was possible: they saw the end game, could communicate it, and inspired me to go for it!
Before his death in 2011, I had the chance to talk with Jack LaLanne, the late father of modern fitness. Already a legend, he indulged me with a conversation about the craft of personal training, the problems he could see in the business, and what he believed was the secret to being a world-class fitness coach.

Jack’s advice has undoubtedly influenced my work, as I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the top producers, singers, songwriters and celebrities in the world. I feel just as blessed and lucky to have trained hundreds of regular people from every age and walk of life, who are determined to make a change in their lives and embark on a new adventure.
